Living Divani supports Accademia Teatro alla Scala
The first phase of "Frog va in scena", the competition that the Accademia Teatro alla Scala has proposed to his former graduate scenic design students in collaboration with Living Divani and Teatro alla Scala is ended.
The competition pays tribute in an original way to the twentieth anniversary of Frog, the famous armchair designed by architect Piero Lissoni. Participants could freely use their creativity to give a new completely personal and 'scenic' appearance to the seat that still fully represents one of the Living Divani's masterpieces.
Among the proposals submitted, two were the ones that found the favor of the Committee, chaired by the same architect Piero Lissoni.
The first prize was awarded to Ambra Pellegatta with the project "To sit or not sit."
Starting from the idea of human desire of nature, the designer creates two versions of Frog representing, through a three-dimensional floral tapestry, two types of garden: one soft and cozy ("To sit"), the other thorny and inaccessible ("Not to sit").
The second prize was awarded to the duo Sara Ricciardi and Carlo Maria Filippelli who proposed "Frog goes around the world". Inspired by EXPO 2015, the event that will make Milan the international capital, candidates imagined Frog in a trip around the world: in an ironic way and never predictable, the armchair changes and adapts itself to the different continents and cultures.
The winners, after a meeting with the architect Piero Lissoni, are already working to create their projects, thanks to a scholarship offered as a prize by Living Divani: cooming soon new pictures and updates.
