The project of the Dorothea Hotel in Budapest, by Lissoni Associati, was born from the unification of three adjoining buildings, each with a different history, courtyards and façades, seeking to maintain the right balance between restoration and innovation. This architectural gesture carries over into the very heart of the building, transforming the three small enclosures into a single courtyard of generous proportions featuring an all-season covered garden open to the rest of the city of Budapest and offering a wonderful prospect for the rooms fronting onto it. The historical context and the enhancement of the architectural elements are also the starting point for the development of the hotel's interior design, where the interpretative matrix is again contemporary and introduces unexpected and sometimes ironic elements. Different projects designed by Piero Lissoni for Living Divani have been chosen to furnish the common areas: the Lipp sofa, which reinterprets the luxurious capitonné style with the contemporary geometrical spirit. Accompanying it are the Confident armchairs, with their rounded and enveloping lines, proposed in both pure and “rattan-shell” versions, able to decorate contract spaces with taste and simplicity. More functional and practical for frequent use, the Maja D armchairs offer a concrete response to the increasingly specific needs of hospitality. Outdoor, on the terrace, the sofa and armchair of the Filo Outdoor family are characterised by a tubular steel structure that supports the visible Iroko wood shell, topped with soft, welcoming upholstery that invites to enjoy the view in total relaxation.
