Second prize for Living Divani and the young designers Cesare Bizzotto and Giole e Antonello
Throughout May the comON Design Exhibition is open at the Milan Triennale, where the public can view the items created by the partnership between the young designers participating in the international competition comON Design 2012 and the top furniture companies from the Como area.
Living Divani took part in the initiative for the fourth year running, producing a family of tables and a plate/chopping board designed by Cesare Bizzotto and Gioele Antonello, students of ECAL university, Lausanne, and Milan's Politecnico university Faculty of Design, and hailing respectively from Padua and Vicenza: ingenious objects that explore the theme chosen for this edition, conviviality at the table, and that go perfectly with the pure geometric shapes of the brand's sofas.
“Dot Dot Dot” is a set of three tables of different heights in sheet steel with epoxy powder coating. The low leg joint makes it easy to position alongside sofas. Its linear design and variety of sizes and colours make for plenty of fun new combinations to meet the widest range of requirements.
“Parla come Mangi” is a table-top container with a ceramic base divided into sections, designed for serving snacks during aperitifs and other convivial moments with friends, plus a chopping-board-cum-lid for slicing and serving the food in the dish.
The value of these projects was lauded yesterday by the jury of the international competition comON Design 2012 – which included such great names as Livia Peraldo Matton, Editor of Elle Decor and Home, and Giulio Cappellini, designer, talent scout and art director of Cappellini - who awarded Cesare Bizzotto and Gioele Antonello with second prize.
This success fills Living Divani with pride, and reaffirms its ability to work with young designers, helping them to direct their creative ideas towards tangible, practicable projects.
